Thanks to all of our attendees, wineries and volunteers for making our 2016 Vine2Wine a success. This year we saw a 23% increase in attendance and, added $9,500.00 to our endowment.
2016 Endowment funds enabled the Tualatin Library Foundation to support summer reading through the purchase of books used in Oregon’s “Battle of the Books”. This year the Foundation purchased 512 books distributed between Tualatin’s 3 elementary schools, MITCH Charter School, and Hazelbrook Middle School.
Also, through the 2016 endowment, Tualatin Library Foundation funded “Library After Dark,” an outreach to elementary school parents, children and staff. These three evening events annually bring 400 adults, 550 children, and 110 teens for a fun-filled evening of learning about library resources, games, and food. More importantly, it gets free books into the hands of every child who attends.
