Overview

The Tualatin Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2008 to seek private support for maintaining the excellence of programs and services offered by the Tualatin Library.

Some recent items provided with Foundation support are:

  • $100K donation toward construction of the library Makerspace in 2021.
  • Reaching out to elementary school parents, their children and staff with evening events geared toward library usage and access.
  • Getting library cards into the hands of Tualatin children.
  • Supporting the Tualatin Library summer reading programs through the purchase of books used in Oregon’s “Battle of the Books” for each elementary school.

While tax dollars allow the Public Library to buy materials and keep the building open, it is often only through private gifts that innovative new programs and services can be offered to meet the community’s changing needs.  The Tualatin Library Foundation’s vision is to increase the endowment fund to ensure that our library can continue to offer quality programs and services.  This will be accomplished by building stronger relationships with individuals, businesses, foundations, grantors and community organizations so that the Library will become the charity of choice for many of its supporters.
